Introduction of The Roundhouse

The garden house (The Roundhouse) is located in the small town of (Fremantle)., Freeman, about 20 kilometers south of Perth The Garden House, a circular building made of limestone, is the oldest public building in Western Australia, built in 1831. Initially a prison of a local nature and the place where the first hangings were carried out, it later became a temporary detention facility devoted to the detention of prisoners who violated the curfew and indigenous people who were about to be transferred to the island of Rothenester for punishment. It was the first permanent building built by the colonists in the Swan River area, with 12 walls, eight cells and two open public latrines. Around 1850, because there were too many prisoners arriving in The Roundhouse, A later Freeman prison was built.

Take a stroll through the garden house and you'll find multiple applications of this historic building, first a prison, later used in a police detention facility, and then a police chief's home. Now is a famous tourist attraction, is a good place to see the sea view.
