Hippos Yawn is located in the eastern suburb of Hyden, a small town in the southwestern part of Western Australia, only about a kilometer drive from the famous (Wave Rock) of wavy rock.
Hippos Yawn is a boulder named for its resemblance to the head of a hammering hippo, which allows visitors to climb through the beak of the hippo, leaving interesting images.
