Wave Rock

lot 6359, LOT 4 Lovering Rd, Hyden WA 6359, Australia

Introduction of Wave Rock

Wave Rock is located on the eastern outskirts of Hyden, a small town in the southwest interior of Western Australia, about 5 kilometers from the heart of Hyden and about 335km from Perth, the capital of Western Australia.

Wave Rock is a naturally formed granite rock, about 15 meters tall and about 110 meters long, with stripes of reddish brown, black, yellow and gray stripes brightly reflected in the sun. Wave Rock is really like a torrent of waves, like huge waves rising high and freezing in the air, nicknamed Australia's longest and farthest wave from the ocean.

Wave Rock is said to have been a huge rock buried mostly underground 2.7 billion years ago, and for a long time water containing various chemicals seeped into the ground and slowly eroded and loosened the bottom of the rock, causing the soil around the rock to be washed away. The eroded rock was exposed to the ground, while the strong desert wind carried sand particles and dust, digging away the lower surface of the rock, leaving a curled top.

Every year, a large number of tourists come to visit Wave Rock, admiring the nature of the ghost craftsmanship, visitors can put a variety of shapes on the surface of the rock, surf on the huge waves. Or walk along the footpath around the bottom or top of a rock cliff from different angles.

If you leave Perth, you can pass through the small town of York, (York), an old town, and through large sheepy pastures.
