Located in a historic red brick building, Chinese Museum is a five-story building that preserves and records the contribution of the Chinese community to Australian construction, society and economic, as well as the history of Australians of Chinese descent. The museum presents the rich and colorful history of the Chinese community's active participation in Australia's multicultural society since 1850, and has always been a dynamic part of Melbourne's Chinatown. There is also a chance to see today's largest Chinese parade dragon in the world: the Millennium Dragon (Millennium Dragon).
Chinese Museum has three regular pavilions looking for gold, (Finding Gold), China Dragon Gallery (Dragon Gallery) and Australian Chinese History (Chinese Australian History), and special temporary exhibitions are held from time to time.
