The Nut

The Nut, Stanley TAS 7331, Australia

Introduction of The Nut

Stanley, the popular tourist town of The Nut in the northwest corner of Tasmania, is known as "Sea Uru" and is the most famous symbol of Stanley.

The Nut is a 152m high, huge and ancient volcanic rock layer (volcanic plugs), now 13 million years old, standing at one end of Stanley Bay (Stanley Harbour), with a steep edge and flat top, the only high point in the area. Once on board, you can enjoy the picturesque scenery around Stanley.

There is a very steep walk about 450m long that leads to the flat top of The Nut, which is divided into three segments, which takes about half an hour to climb, or a climbing cable car (A $10 / person) from (The Nut Chair Lift), the cable station in Browns Road. (winter closed) reach the top of the mountain and experience the wonderful feeling of "one day I will always climb to your top and see all the small hills around me."
