Singleton is located in (Hunter Region), the Hunter area of the eastern part of New South Wales, about 200km by car from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and about 75km from Newcastle (Newcastle), the second largest city on New Island.
Singleton is located on the Hunter River (Hunter River) bank, founded in 1820, coal mining, vineyards and animal husbandry are the main industries.
