Introduction of Port Macdonnell

The limestone coast of (Limestone Coast), southeast of Adelaide, is about 461km by car from Adelaide and about 38km from (Mount Gambier), the second largest city in South Australia. Port Macdonnell has a permanent population of about 600km. Is a beautiful coastal town, is a famous fishing area in South Australia, producing crabs, lobsters, abalone, conch and all kinds of fish.


Additional attraction points:

  • Port Macdonnell town's coastline majestic, strange stone dripping sweltering, has the feeling of Dayang Road (Great Ocean Road) miniaturized version;
  • In Fairy Penguin Colony, west of the town, in Cape Northumberland, you can see the world's smallest penguin, Little Penguin;.
  • There are also the first lighthouses built on land in South Australia in Cape Northumberland;

  • About 15 kilometers north of the town, Shanke Mountain (Mount Schank) is a dormant volcano with a unique circular crater landscape and camping facilities.
