Goolwa is a small town on the limestone coast of South Australia on (Limestone Coast), about 80 kilometers by car from Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, and about 20 kilometers from (Victor Harbor), the resort town of (Fleurieu Peninsula) on the Floriere Peninsula. It's the northern entrance to (Coorong National Park), Goolwa Curong National Park.
Located on the side of (Murray River) on the Murray River, Goolwa is connected to (Hindmarsh Island), Hindmarsh, by a bridge. Goolwa, with a long history, has been an important river port in South Australia since 1850 and is now a major pillar industry in agro-pastoral fisheries and tourism. It is known as New Orleans in Australia.
