The cat's weather in November was getting hotter and hotter. The spirit of the flower appreciation has just passed, what else can we do in addition to stepping on the green to appreciate the flowers?

Why don't you go watch the fireflies! Early summer night, see the twinkle of flicker around the side, the heart also become light and soft. But the fireflies are exquisite, and in order not to do harm to these lovely little ones, at the end of this article, I have prepared a compulsory course for you to enjoy the fireflies.

Generally speaking, fireflies live in moist shade or grass and fly at low altitude at night. It is now hard to see a large number of fireflies in the heart of the metropolis. To see the spectacular fireflies, you need to go to specific parks or suburbs to look for them.

So, where can I see the fantastic firefly scene in Melbourne?

Melba Gully Canyon

Melba Gully Park is located in southwest Victoria, 3 km west of the small town of Lavers Hill, 210km from Melbourne, within 3 hours of driving. Victoria's largest firefly habitat is on the ocean road filled with natural beauty and national parks.

Fireflies like to sojourn in damp, warm, and woody places. They tend to gather near warm and humid water sources.

And Melba Gully's natural conditions are exactly in line with their life requirements. The environment here is particularly humid, is the whole state of the largest rain water, the humidity of the region, annual precipitation will reach more than 2000 mm. Filled with ferns and bushes, it can be said to be the perfect home for fireflies.

Fluoroscopic route

Melba Gully Park has a planned hiking route, about half an hour's walk, and it doesn't have to be that long if the goal is to go to see fireflies.

From the parking lot down the wooden ladder, along the left-hand side into the trestle path, clockwise tour, about 5 minutes walk, the trestle around the bush will appear a small number of fireflies, at this point must turn off the flashlight to look for appreciation.

After a 10-minute walk, a large number of fireflies appeared on the rock wall next to the trestle. A 15-minute walk to Anne's Cascade, where the fireflies live, is the perfect place to watch the fireflies, with wooden benches next to it, and you can sit down and enjoy them.

Basic dress

The clothes are light, comfortable and close to the natural color. Be sure to wear long-sleeved clothes and prepare mosquito-repellent solution for mosquito bites.

And carry simple rain gear (light plastic raincoat) so as not to suddenly encounter a short rain.

The principle of "three inconsistencies do not exist"

Those who often go to the fireflies must know that the fireflies are not "three different"-no noise, no catching fireflies, no direct illumination without flashlights, no harm to light, these rules should always be remembered, not careless.

If it is too noisy, the firefly will be alert to hide in the bushes, easy to fall back;

Even if you have lots of fireflies around, don't grab them with your hands and touch them, which can affect the breeding process or cause the timid fireflies to die in shock.

Optimal viewing time

According to firefly habits, most fireflies find a mate to start mating after 9: 00, usually between sundown and evening, about 7: 00 to 9: 00, when the average firefly is most active. Also into the rest of the time, so will slowly reduce the amount of activity (lantern also no electricity).

So, if the fireflies are mostly hiding in the grass after 9 o'clock, there is little flickering in the sky. It is recommended to arrive at the firefly spot before dark, understand the "firefly" environment, and find a suitable place to wait. As the sky darkens, the fireflies will quietly fly from among the grass and then gradually increase in number. After about an hour or so, the number will begin to decrease again until it disappears.

Fireflies, like stars in the sky, want to be in it

Now this beautiful dream, can be realized in Australia, quickly find a weekend ~

Ask your friends out to find the little fireflies.
