Thredbo

(Perisher), a ski resort in central New South Wales, is located in (Kosciuszko National Park), near the Victorian border, and about 490km by car from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales. About 210km from the Australian capital Canberra.

Founded in 1957, Thredbo is Australia's favorite playground for celebrities. The most "star-shaped" snow village was awarded the World Ski Award "Australia's Best Ski spot" in 2015.

As one of the representatives of the new state ski resort, Thredbo was chosen by the government in 1996 as the headquarters of the Australian Academy of Mountain Sports training (The Australian Institute of Sport's Alpine Training Centre).
