Kroombit Tops National Park

Kroombit Tops National Park, Boyne Valley QLD 4680, Australia

Introduction of Kroombit Tops National Park

Kroombit Tops National Park is located in central Queensland, about 50 bus trips west from the small town of Biloela, and about 85 km east to Gladstone (Gladstone), a major Queensland town on the east coast of Queensland, covering an area of 74.6 square kilometers.

The plateau where Kroombit Tops National Park is located is about 400m higher than the surrounding area, with unique sandstone cliffs, canyons, streams, waterfalls and various vegetation types. National parks are suitable for recreational activities such as bird watching, cross-country driving and jungle walking, with camping sites.

Kroombit Tops National Park is best known for having the wreckage of an American B x {e16c} 24D liberator (Liberator) bomber who crashed during World War II and who was missing along with the plane during a storm on its way from Darwin to Brisbane on Feb. 26, 1945. It was not until August 2, 1994, half a century later, that it was discovered here. The wreckage of the plane is now retained in the National Park as a historical relic, and (Beautiful Betsy Walk) leads visitors to the bomber's crash site.
