Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is located in the southwest suburb of Mackay, a port city in northern Queensland, about 5 km from the city of Mackay.

Opened in 2003, Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens showcases beautiful tropical plants from Mackay and the Holy Spirit Islands (Whitsundays), exotic plants from similar climates around the world and other beautiful native Australian plants.

Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens is a tree-lined, beautiful environment with more than 3 kilometers of trails and bicycle trails, wetland wooden roads, distinctive cafes and galleries (above the wildlife-infested lagoon) and rare bird-watching opportunities.
