Wittunga Botanic Garden is located on the western steep slope of (Adelaide Hills), Adelaide Mountain, on the southern outskirts of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. It is about 13 kilometers by car from the city of Adelaide and covers an area of about 12 hectares.
Together with (Adelaide Botanic Garden), the Adelaide botanical garden in the city centre, and (Mount Lofty Botanic Garden), the Loftese Mountain botanical garden on the east side of (Mount Lofty), Wittunga Botanic Garden forms the three botanical gardens of the city of Adelaide,. Wittunga Botanic Garden, with its shady trees and beautiful scenery. The park has a man-made lake, full of wild birds and tortoises and so on. It has a free tour organized by volunteers every Tuesday morning, and it is a popular place for local people to take a casual walk and have a picnic.
