Bribie Island

Bribie Island, Queensland 4507, Australia

Introduction of Bribie Island

Bribie Island is an island at the northernmost end of (Moreton Bay), Morton Bay, north of Brisbane, Queensland, about 90 kilometers from Brisbane and covers an area of about 148 square kilometers.

Bribie Island is the smallest of the three main sand islands in Morton Bay, while the other two are (Moreton Island) and (North Stradbroke Island)., North StradBrock.

Bribie Island surrounds the continental coastline, tapering up to the northernmost end of (Caloundra) near Karadra and separating it from the continent through the pumice channel (Pumicestone Passage). Most of the island is an uninhabited national park, with a permanent population of about 20,000, most of which live in small towns in the south.

The only island in Queensland with a bridge connected to the mainland, built in 1963. The (Bribie Bridge) bridge in the south connects the mainland to the island's small town of (Bellara)., Bellary.

Bribie Island is surrounded by white beaches, the island's freshwater lakes are home to many birds, and the coast provides plenty of food for seabirds and is home to thousands of waterbirds. The waters around Island are populated by dugong (mermaids). Located at the southern tip of the island, Buckley's Hole is an important bird habitat and shelter.

Bribie Island maintains a relatively primitive, natural look, far less developed than Morton and North StradBrock, but has its own flavor, where there are no crowded crowds or bustling buildings. Visitors can choose to enjoy a relaxing slow and light trip on this modest vacation island.
