Boulder Town Hall is located in Kalgoorlie- Boulder (City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, a gold mine town in the south of Western Australia.
Boulder Town Hall was built in 1908 to showcase the architectural style of the once prosperous gold rush. This is a well-preserved history hall with die-cast tin ceilings and wrought iron railings. The hall was once a theater famous for the celebrity performances by Nellie Merbah Jazz (Dame Nellie Melba), Irene Joyce (Eileen Joyce) and Joan Sutherland (Joan Sutherland). Today, the hall still has the famous and rare Philip Gaochell stage curtain (Philip Goatcher Stage Curtain), is said to be the last of its kind. This magnificent curtain features the (Bay of Naples) of Naples Bay and has been hanging in the hall since 1908. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and (Boulder Market) Day at Boulder Fair, the beautifully restored curtain drops slowly through the original pulley system.
Entering this magnificent old building, you will feel the energy and importance of the hall, which has served as a library and municipal office for most of the 20th century and is the heart of Boulder's community life.
