The The See Yup temple is located in the south Melbourne (South Melbourne) on the south bank of the Yalah River (Yarra River), the state capital of Victoria, about two kilometers from the centre of Melbourne city.

Melbourne The See Yup temple was built in Xianfeng Qing Dynasty for six years (1856), designed by George Wharton (George Wharton). It is a two-story wooden building built with unique European and Chinese elements a blend of neoclassical and traditional Chinese architectural styles. The central Commonwealth of Australia government 、 the Victoria Province government and the Chinese Overseas Territories jointly funded a renovation in the 1980s, which was reopened to the public in 1976 and included in the Australian Historic Buildings List in 1978.
