Tantanoola is located on the limestone coast of (Limestone Coast), southeast of Adelaide, about 416km from Adelaide, and about 36km from (Mount Gambier), the second largest city in South Australia. The (Tantanoola Tiger) tiger is well known in Australian culture. Tantanoola is a legendary ferocious predator prototype of a cat that was eventually identified as a wolf. Tantanoola is very close to Cananda National Park (Canunda National Park) and South Australia's largest freshwater lake: Lake Boni (Lake Bonney). In addition, located 7 km east of the town, Kananda National Park (Canunda National Park) is a very famous tourist attraction.
