Penola is an inland town on the limestone coast of (Limestone Coast), southeast of Adelaide, about 382km from Adelaide and about 50km from (Mount Gambier), the second-largest city in South Australia.

Penola, with a permanent population of about 1300, is an ancient town with a long history.
