Heathcote

Introduction of Heathcote

Heathcote is a small town in central Victoria, about 110km by car from Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, and about 40km from Bendigo (Bendigo), Victoria's fourth-largest city.

Heathcote, where European colonists have settled since 1836, discovered a gold mine in (McIvor Creek), near McGeever Creek, in 1852, and the rush of gold divers overcrowded it, and as the gold mine dried up, The population of the small town has also declined as rapidly as the ebb tide.

Heathcote is now a well-known wine region in Victoria and is known for its high-quality (Shiraz) wines. The annual Heathcote Wine and Food Festival (Heathcote Wine and Food Festival), held in October each year, has grown rapidly since its inauguration in 1994. It has become the most important holiday in small town.
