Evandale

Introduction of Evandale

Evandale is an inland town in the north of Tasmania, about 18 kilometers from the second largest city in Tasmania, Longseston (Launceston), and about 5 kilometers from Longseston Airport (Launceston Airport).

Evandale was built in 1816, named after the painter and land surveyor, George William Evans (George William Evans), and most of the town's buildings remained hidden and unchallenged more than a hundred years ago.

Evandale market (Evandale Market) is the town's most popular event, with up to 100 stalls selling a variety of exquisite handicrafts, food and entertainment every Sunday. Moreover, Evandale is known as the venue for the annual National Antique Bicycle Championships (National Penny Farthing Championships,Penny Farthing is an antique bike with big front wheels and small rear wheels), and in February every year, enthusiasts of antique bikes wear Lycra tights and come here to compete.
