Culcairn is a small town in (Riverina region), south-east of New South Wales, about 510km by car from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and about 75km from (Wagga), the largest city in the Varyna region.
The Rivarena region is Australia's second largest wine region after (Barossa Valley), South Australia. Culcairn has been settled since 1834 and now has a permanent population of about 1200, making it the main supply center for surrounding towns and villages. Known locally as the "millennium town of The town of a thousand".
