The seaweed, considered the oldest organic creature in the world, has lived for more than one hundred thousand years and stretches nearly 10 miles wide.

To protect the seabed, the local goverment has pushed for the updating of navigational charts.

Pando is the largest and oldest creature on earth, and scientists estimate that the forest of the single-rooted poplar system dates back 80, 000 years. Also recognized as the heaviest individual creature in the world, Pandora has more than 40,000 stems and weighs about 13 million pounds. Pandora is known as the "Giant of the tremor", with an area of 106 hectares. Scientists now believe it is dying because of a variety of causes: drought, pests and diseases.

The long-lived, 184-year-old tortoise is named Jonathan.. At the age of 50, he was given to British rulers as a gift. The Jonathan then witnessed the change of power in the 28th British goverment. It is now considered to be the longest-lived terrestrial creature in the world.

Muja, an American alligator, lives in the Serbian capital Belgrade Zoo, a special elderly resident. Muja, born in Germany in 1937, entered the zoo a year after it opened. Unfortunately, the main branch of the tree broke last week. The tree's trunk is huge, requiring 40 adults with open arms and a 13-foot crown where 15 people can easily sit. More than 7000 visitors come to visit each year.
