As the Australian government stepped up its efforts to promote a more evenly distributed distribution of migrants, new settlers in a small town in Australia said they were promoting prosperity there.

According to the Daily Mail, the central Victorian city of Bendigo (Bendigo) has long been known for its rich colonial heritage, dating back to the days of the gold rush, and the whole city is changing as it accepts large numbers of refugees.

Since 2007, Bendigo has warmly welcomed the war-torn Burmese Karen refugees. This typical Australian town has become the new home for these refugees.

Refugee Lay (Say Ka Trace Hlaing) arrived in Bendigo nine years ago, after living in the camp for more than a decade. Lay has since worked in local dental health services, along with other Karen refugees, to return to the local community.

"I really love Bendigo," Lai told the media. "it`s a very diverse place."

This positive signal was echoed by many residents. Graves (Kaye Graves) of (Bendigo Community Health Services), a community health service center in Bendigo, says immigration can benefit the economy.

"all people with refugee backgrounds work in areas where there is a shortage of staff, and they also contribute to other areas of work," Graves said. There are more and more people here. They work, study and play. We have the best football players. "

Bendigo, with a population of about 95,000, has steadily climbed to more than 1000 over the past 10 years. Similarly, Neil (Nhill), a small western Victorian town, has received a number of Karen refugees.

Australia`s federal and state governments have recently taken aggressive steps to make immigration more evenly distributed across the country. The measures are aimed at easing pressure on Sydney and Melbourne, where immigration-led population surges have created problems for infrastructure and government services in the two major cities.
