With the federal budget coming out next month, Morrison (Scott Morrison) has waived entry restrictions for business innovation and investment visa (Business Innovation and Investment Visa) holders and restarted applications for major investors (Significant Investor)188C sub-visas under the plan.

At present, business innovation and investment visa holders stranded overseas due to the new crown border restrictions can return to Australia without applying for a travel exemption. However, they are required to travel with supporting documents.

The Australian Federal government introduced a business innovation and investment visa scheme known as the "Gold Ticket "(Golden Ticket) in 2012, Allowing investors to invest at least A $1.5 million in Australian compliance projects within four years, Get a temporary visa to live and work in Australia. Applicants for major investor visa subclasses need to invest at least A $5 million within four years. In 2015, government adjusted the policy, Change the required investment direction from real estate to venture capital.

The investment migration program has generated about A $11.6 billion in revenue for Australia since its launch. Nearly 90% of the signed migrants come from China.

'The lifting of the restrictions is unlikely to affect too many visa holders ,'said Abull Rizvi, a former immigration official, in an interview with SBS. "The 188 type of temporary residence visa is only a small part of the business immigration program and is not the hottest because business immigrants prefer permanent residence visas. "

"Business visa holders will benefit from this adjustment in two categories —— persons who have already gone to their ancestral countries and persons who have not yet entered Australia for the first time. Their numbers are likely to be small. "

Under the new regulations, the following persons are now exempted from travel restrictions to enter Australia directly:

citizen; Australia

• Permanent residents of Australia;

• Direct relatives of citizen or permanent residents of Australia;

New Zealand citizen and their immediate family members who often reside in Australia;

• Diplomats in Australia holding 995 visas;

• Travellers crossing Australia for a period not exceeding 72 hours;

• Airline crew;

• Seamen, including navigators;

Persons recruited under the government seasonal workers' scheme (Seasonal Worker Program) or the Pacific labour scheme (Pacific Labour Scheme);

•188 Business Innovation and Investment Visa holders.

All other persons are required to apply for immigration travel exemption before they can enter Australia.

Reactivation of major investor visas

At the same time ,188 major investor visa applications under C Business Innovation and Investment Migration Program have been reopened. Mr. Hedley (Guy Hedley), executive chairman of Atlas Advisors Asset Management, welcomed the decision in an interview with Stockhead yesterday afternoon.

"We are still not sure what the situation will be from 2020 to 2021. But you will notice that 140,000 immigrants came to Australia last year, and less than 7000 of them have such investor visas. I think the number of successful immigrants coming to Australia this year will be only a small part of 140,000, but the number of investment immigrants coming to Australia will increase. "

"As a result, strategically, you will think that Australia government vigorously encourage the introduction of investment capital into Australia. "
