The new state recently announced a major change in the nomination criteria for temporary visas for skilled migrants in 491 remote areas, adding one category to enable people living and working outside the new state to apply for state nominations.

According to SBS reports, the new state said that the 2020-2021 fiscal year of temporary quotas have been issued, need to wait for the Federal Ministry of the Interior additional rations.

As soon as the additional quota is announced, the new state will invite 491 visa applicants through the Australian remote area Development Bureau (Regional Development Australia). The new state will be invited to apply for a visa.

But unlike last year, the nomination criteria for the new state 491 visa will be similar to all regions.

The new State has declared three categories of persons eligible for nomination by the State:

  • Living and working in remote areas of the new state
  • Recently completed studies in remote areas of Xinzhou
  • Working and living outside the new state

Immigrationigrant intermediary Plit (Chaman Preet) said that in fiscal year 2021-2022, the new state was the first to open nominations to applicants living outside the states.

"The new state is open to applicants residing in other states and abroad ," she said. It's important because people who do n' t want new state employers to offer jobs can apply for state nominations. "


Who can be nominated?

According to the new state government's official website information, different categories of applicants have their own conditions to meet, as follows:

Living and working in remote areas of the State:

  • Hold a valid vocational skills assessment, which is on the list of occupations in the area you nominate;
  • Living in remote areas designated by the new canton for the past 12 months;
  • Nominated or closely related occupations in remote areas designated by the new state for at least the last 12 months

Those who have recently completed their studies in remote areas of the State:

  • Hold a valid vocational skills assessment, which is on the list of occupations in the area you nominate;
  • Completion of studies or education at an educational institution and:
  • Study to be completed within the last 24 months;
  • Educational institutions are located in remote areas designated by the new state;
  • Learning to meet Australia's learning requirements (determined from time to time by the Home Office);
  • Qualifications obtained in the course of study have been assessed by the relevant assessment body as being closely related to the occupation nominated by the applicant;
  • (b) Living in remote areas designated by the new Länder while completing their studies;

Those who work and live outside the new state meet all the following criteria:

  • a. with job opportunities in remote areas of the new state
  • Hold a valid vocational skills assessment, which is on the list of occupations in the area you nominate;
  • There is a continuous job opportunity, which is the applicant's nominated occupation or closely related occupation, and must be at least 12 months work at least 35 hours a week
  • Employers providing continuous job opportunities are located in remote areas designated by the state and registered in Australia

b. overseas applicants with at least 5 years of technical employment experience

  • Hold a valid vocational skills assessment, which is on the list of occupations in the area you nominate;
  • At least 5 years of technical employment experience in nominated or closely related occupations

c. family relationship in remote areas of New State

  • Hold a valid vocational skills assessment, which is on the list of occupations in the area you nominate;
  • An immediate family member in a remote area designated by the new state refers to the applicant's grandparents, parents or siblings (including relationship of remarriage or adoption by parents)
  • Immediate family at least 18 years of age
  • An immediate family member needs to be a permanent resident of Australia, an Australian citizen or a 489 visa holder nominated by a new state
  • Immediate relatives currently live in remote areas designated by the new state
  • Immediate family members have lived in remote areas designated by the new state for at least the past 24 months
  • In addition, applicants must ensure that family members have signed a statutory declaration confirming that they all meet the above requirements for associated immigration
