Visa applications for skilled immigrants will be expedited if they move to remote areas, according to a $19.4 million federal plan announced by the federal government, the Australian news agency reported.

Immigration Minister Kao Min (David Coleman) said he would spend the money within four years and said (Department of Home Affairs) staff from the Ministry of the Interior went to remote areas to help local businesses recruit more skilled workers.

"many areas outside Sydney, Melbourne and southeast Kunzhou are calling for skilled immigrants," Gao said in a statement today. These remote programs will help communities and local businesses attract the migrants they need most.

Under the plan, the government will give priority to employer-guaranteed visas in remote areas and some immigration agreements. The designated area Immigration Agreement (Designated Area Migration Agreement) gives local governments the power to recruit workers from overseas, allowing local employers to guarantee overseas workers to come to Australia to work in jobs that do not recruit locals.

Only the Northern Territory government has signed a designated area immigration agreement, and the federal government is pushing for more. Komin said it was expected that the (Warrnambool) in Vanampur, Victoria, would soon reach an agreement with the federal government.

"there are economic gaps in remote areas (with big cities), and immigrants can help close them. This is what we are doing now with the help of a wider range of new measures. "

Prime Minister (Scott Morrison) Mosuisse has stressed that migrants may be asked to live in remote areas for five years if they want permanent residency.

Mr Kao`s announcement comes as Treasury Secretary Fredenberg (Josh Frydenberg) holds talks with state and territorial peers today on how to manage population growth expectations.
