In the wine country, you can see geometry: from the ups and downs of the mountains to the delicate purple spheres hanging over the fingers. Pass through your wobbly glass, peek through the cellar, and the vines are twisted at a strange angle.

In the wine country, you can see geometry: from the ups and downs of the mountains to the delicate purple spheres hanging over the fingers. Pass through your wobbly glass, peek through the cellar, and the vines are twisted at a strange angle.

Delenburg Chateau, (Fleurieu Peninsula), Floriere Peninsula

McLaren Vale is one of the three wine regions that surround Adelaide, and in addition to all of the familiar natural geometry described above, there is also a bold landmark building-The d'Arenberg Cube. The cube-shaped building stands in the vineyard and is visible a few kilometers away. It is like a giant cube that is twisted and discarded during a crack. It has a different look from any other wine cellar in Australia, but there is a touch of wild frolicism in the LaCite du Vin architecture of the French Bordeaux wine museum, which opened in 2016. Its rounded curvilinear structure is built in response to the breathtaking (Guggenheim Museum) of the Guggenheim Gallery in Bilbao, Spain.

When the owner of the Delenburg winery, Chester Osborn, known for his brightly colored shirts and unruly curly hair, first promoted his big idea more than a decade ago, the concept of cubes must sound crazy. In December, his concept was finally opened to a batch of curious tourists, who spent A $10 on it and ended up tasting wine on the top floor.

Even if you just come to see the cube, just put up your ears at the entrance and experience its avant-garde taste. The music floating on the vines is DJ's interpretation of the weather. After an introduction in a narrow corner of the lobby, we were brought into the wine inhalation room. On the wall, between fake flowers and plastic fruit, a boat carries the smell of wine. "Peach is my favorite," one staff member said as we squeezed rubber bulbs to release the odors. La Cite du Vin also offers the concept of a broken smell.

After viewing a panoramic image (perhaps the most boring element here), we were taken to a bathroom-the staff actually wanted to show how the bathroom was hidden in a whimsical vertical garden. Then we went to the wine tasting room, where 70 screens were embedded in the bar. High-end restaurants on the middle floor are closed to temporary visitors.

There is also a new multimillion-dollar building to the south-last year, Mitolo Wines opened its first tasting room and restaurant Bocca di Lupoopened (Italian slang for good luck. The ten black containers felt hard, softened by honey-colored solid wood and glass walls from floor to roof. Inside, too, the waiter briskly carried a chic plate of yeast bread and snacks, including beet, licorice sponge cake, walnuts and chocolates.

McLaren Vale

Down the same road is the Hugh Hamilton Wines winery, where the wine tasting room is a circular building, allegedly the most spectacular view of the local winery-a mouthful of wine and a little matching cheese in the face of the panorama.

Back in Adelaide, I went to my favorite old place, Adelaide Central Market (Adelaide Central Market), and made some new discoveries. My friend and I went to Lantern by Nu, a Thai restaurant in an avant-garde industrial space in Selby Street, and ordered pork with waxy rice, fried pork and broccoli. Some of the full-bodied white wines on the wine list are white wine for wine lovers, but they are not as good as the Beijing Bellini (Beijing Bellini) cocktail made from litchi.

In addition, chef Jock Zonfrillo, with the halo of the upscale restaurant Orana, turned Bistro Blackwood, a restaurant downstairs in Rundle Street, into a more relaxed and casual place to eat some cuttlefish salad and shrimp pancakes with pickled chili.

For visitors from the rest of Australia, it's really hard to have a weekend with Adelaide and the surrounding area. The best advice is to come back.
