FOUR THOUSAND FISH-- ice carving
Time: every weekend
Location: Barangaroo Reserve
Friends in Sydney must have been or heard of Barangaroo Reserve, next to Sydney Port but many people don't know what the name Barangaroo means. Barangaroo is a very great female fisherman in Sydney. British colonists used to catch fish in Sydney Harbor, and 4000 catches a day destroyed the aborigines' ecosystem that protected Sydney Harbor for thousands of years, resulting in an ecological disaster. At this time, it is Barangaroo bravely stand up, with their own life, to turn the tide, let Sydney Port slowly re-energize.
Sydney Festival's "4000 Fish" campaign is a tribute to Barangaroo, and to help people care more about Australia's beautiful ecological environment. In the event, together with all participants, the organizers will cast 4000 crystal-clear ice fish from the sea water of Sydney Port and let them melt slowly in the setting sun to bring these lives back to the beautiful Sydney Harbour.
With such a beautiful activity to tell you, love our survival on the ecological environment, the organizers are really good-hearted! Hand-made ice fish activities will take place every weekend, so you can arrange time for a special experience.
