Located 3km north of downtown Melbourne, Parkville is one of Melbourne's best inner cities and is home to the University of Melbourne's main campus. Most of the inhabitants are very young, with 55% of the population aged between 18 and 34. The University of Melbourne is the most important institution in the region, with about half of its inhabitants attending or working at Mozambican University. Parkville also includes many medical institutions, including Royal Psychiatric Hospital, Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne Zoo and Royal Park. Parkville also has a complete set of educational facilities, from kindergarten to university. However, although it is a famous university district in Melbourne, the income of residents here is very average.
