Mitchell River National Park

Wallers Rd, Cobbannah VIC 3862, Australia

Introduction of Mitchell River National Park

Mitchell River National Park is located in the inland mountains of southeastern Victoria, about 280km by car from Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, and about 50km from (Bairnsdale), an important coastal town in southeastern Victoria, covering an area of 142.5 square kilometers.

Mitchell River National Park has an impressive riverbank landscape with open forests, fast rivers and canyons, serene rainforest valleys, rugged landforms, and some of the vegetation communities that are not common in Victoria. In addition, the National Park is home to a large number of wildlife.

Located in the remote inland, the natural environment is free of any damage and pollution, Mitchell River National Park is the perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Canoe or raft rafting is one of Mitchell River National Park's most popular activities. Canoeing on the Mitchell River (Mitchell River), which runs through the National Park, provides access to much of the National Park and allows visitors to take a short one-day canoe tour. You can also enjoy longer trips through tranquil pools and surging turbulence and rapids down to the coast of Lake Jeep (Gippsland Lakes), where July-December is the best time to canoe.
