Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre

18515 New England Hwy, Glengallan QLD 4370, Australia

Introduction of Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre

Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre (Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre) is located in the northern suburb of Warwick (Stanthorpe), a small inland town in eastern Queensland, about 15 kilometers from the heart of Warwick.

Built in 1867 by local herdsman John Duchal (John Deuchar) and his wife Elizabeth (Elizabeth), Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre had ambitious plans, but by the time they died, the Grand Garland Manor had completed part of it. Since 1927, this majestic two-storey sandstone mansion has not been inhabited by anyone until 1993, when the estate was almost abandoned. To save the iconic historic building, the local government listed the manor on the list of conservation. And renovated and open to the public. With a well-preserved garden and a coffee shop, visitors can enjoy the historic life of the colonial Queensland hinterland.

In addition, the Grand Garland Estate holds open-air bazaars on the first Sunday of March, June, September and December in the Garden of the Congregation Manor.
