WWII Oil Storage Tunnels

WWII Oil Storage Tunnels, Darwin Waterfront, Kitchener Dr, Darwin City NT 0800, Australia

Introduction of WWII Oil Storage Tunnels

WWII Oil Storage Tunnels is one of the most interesting historical sights of Darwin in the Darwin dock area of Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory.

The original plan was to build eight oil tunnels, but only five were actually built, of which two are now open to the public. A photo exhibition of Darwin's life during World War II was opened in the tunnel, reflecting the state of life in the Northern Territory during that period. Experienced tour guides will lead visitors through the tunnel, with a rich and informative explanation, which takes about 30 minutes. Books and souvenirs are available for sale in the scenic spots.
