The Big Camera - Photographic Museum

Great Eastern Hwy, Meckering WA 6405, Australia

Introduction of The Big Camera - Photographic Museum

The The Big Camera-Photographic Museum is located about 130km from Perth in Meckering, the interior of Western Australia.

The The Big Camera-Photographic Museum architecture is a giant antique camera, the only museum of photography in Western Australia open to the public, with more than 1000 exhibits on display, including cameras (eight years before the invention of photography) and projectors. Magnifying machines, post-processing equipment, slide projectors and slides, film cameras and projectors (from 9.5 mm to more than 8 mm), slide projectors, mobile magic lenses, Fernaghi mirrors, kaleidoscope and 3D photography, etc. The museum houses useful photographs of the world's first photography method, the Daguerre silver plate method, as well as photographs taken using glass dry plate photography and iron plate photography. All cameras displayed have been carefully examined to make sure they work properly. There are also valuable images of the 1968 Manklin earthquake. There are numerous photographs and newspaper articles on display, and local travel information is available.
