Introduction of Anzac Square

In Australia and New Zealand, many cities have Legion Square. Anzac Square of Brisbane, Queensland capital, is located opposite, central train Station (Central Station) in downtown Brisbane.

Built in 1930, Brisbane AnzacSquare was built to honor all the soldiers of the ANZ Army who have been involved in the war. The square has spacious grasslands where tourists can have a picnic. The square has a round memorial column that opens every year's anniversary.

Anzac Square has a war memorial (Shrine of Remembrance), long fire (Eternal Flame) burning here. In addition, there are war monuments, honors of fallen soldiers, medals, tile mosaics and soil from World War II cemeteries. War Memorial has a touch screen explanation system to explain the significance of Anzac Square War Memorial to tourists.

  • Take Ring Line 40, bus No. 50 to get off at Adelaide Street at ANZAC Square; exit Ann Street from central train Station.
