Mammoth Cave

Mammoth Cave, Caves Rd, Boranup WA 6286, Australia

Introduction of Mammoth Cave

Mammoth Cave is in the middle of Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park in the southwestern corner of Western Australia, about 10km from the nearest town, the Margaret River, about 280km from Perth, the capital of Western Australia.

The Augusta-Margaret River region is situated in the most south-west corner of Australia's mainland, with Margaret River and Augusta being the two largest towns in the region, near which there are many naturally occurring stalactite caves, most famously and most beautifully: the Mamath Cave, the Jewel Cave and the Lake Cave, all of which require guided tours.

Mammoth Cave, which is about 500 meters long and about 30 meters deep, has more visitors than several other caves, and is surrounded by greenery that preserves some of the extinct fossils of ancient animals.
