The 300-hectare giant zoo is Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo most famous attraction and city symbol in a small town in the Midwest (The Central West) of New South Wales.
Taronga Western Plains Zoo is Australia's largest open zoo, with more than 1500 species, especially since the African grassland, including many rare animals and endangered species, the only place in Australia to see African elephants.
Different from most zoos, because of their huge size, Taronga Western Plains Zoo are allowed to drive in, and can rent bicycles and electric convertible golf carts at the zoo gate. Zoofari Lodge also offers accommodations to give visitors a special adventure.
Tour mode:
- Self-driving: visitors can drive their own car into the zoo, the park has a length of about 6 kilometers of one-way road around, along the road with a number of parking lots, convenient for tourists to stop and get off to explore the zoo;
- Golf cart: the zoo offers a golf cart rental for $70/3 hours, requiring the driver to be 21 years old and to hold a driver's license;
- Bicycle: the zoo offers golf cart rental at a price of $17 per day (ordinary bicycle) and $24 per day (mountain bike).
