NSW Rail Museum's rural town of (Macarthur Region), in (Macarthur Region), in the eastern interior of New South Wales, is about 90 kilometers by car from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and about 50 kilometers from Wollongong, the second-largest city in New South Wales.
Founded in 1975, NSW Rail Museum is Australia's largest railway museum with a large collection of valuable items related to railway history, with more than 100 old-fashioned train used to operate in New South Wales history.
Apart from the conventional exhibition, NSW Rail Museum, there is nothing more attractive than the steam train trip, (Steam Train Sunday), which set off from the historic train station in Siramir and returned to (Buxton) in Berkshire for about 45 minutes. Run on Sunday from May to November only, three shifts a day, starting at 11: 00, 12: 30 and 14: 00, respectively.
