Woolgoolga

Introduction of Woolgoolga

Woolgoolga is a coastal town on the northeast coast of New South Wales, about 550km south from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and 290km north from Gold Coast, Queensland's second-largest city.

The Woolgoolga region has long been a banana growing center in New South Wales, but in the face of growing competition from Queensland and overseas, the banana industry has been declining for many years, after the late 1990s. Many plantations have begun to replace banana cultivation with blueberries.

Woolgoolga is located on the scenic east coast of Xinzhou, on the (Pacific Hwy) edge of the most important Pacific Highway from Sydney to Queensland, although not as famous as (Coffs Harbour), the port of Coves, which is about 25 kilometers from the town on the northeast coast. But it also makes Woolgoolga a popular tourist destination.
