Wonthaggi

Introduction of Wonthaggi

Wonthaggi is a coastal town on the southeastern coast of Victoria, about 130km from Victoria's capital, Melbourne.

Wonthaggi was founded in 1910 under the name of the local Bunurong native language, meaning "home." Wonthaggi, once known as a coal mining town, is no longer mined, but it has left many historic sites open to tourists. The state coal mine pit, such as (State Coal Mine), reproduces the working and working environment of the workers of that year, and is a witness and representative of history.
