Introduction of Port Hedland

Port Hedland is a coastal town in (Pilbara Region), Pilbara, northwest Western Australia, about 1640 kilometers by car from Perth, the capital of Western Australia, and about 600km from the famous tourist city of (Broome). Situated in the middle of (Exmouth), the main town of (Ningaloo Coast), the main town of Bloom and the World Heritage site of Ningro, with a permanent population of about 16000, it is the second largest town and commercial center in the Pilbara region.

Port Hedland, on the north side of the southern Indian Ocean, is a natural deep-water port, a major gas and container hub in the region, and an offshore export of iron ore produced in the Pilbara region. More than 40 million tons of iron ore are shipped from here to Australia and around the world every month.

About 15 kilometers south of Port Hedland, South Hedland (South Hedland) is the satellite town of Port Hedland, and the large salt mound (Dampier Salt) between Port Hedland and South Hedland is huge. The mounds, owned by Rio Tinto group (Rio Tinto Group), are among the world's largest mining companies and have become Port Hedland's famous tourist attractions.
