Broken Hill

Introduction of Broken Hill

Broken Hill is located in the western interior of New South Wales, close to the South Australian border, about 1140 kilometers from Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, and about 510km from Adelaide, the capital of South Australia.

Broken Hill is located in the desert, surrounded by deserts, while Broken Hill itself is like an oasis in the desert, shaded with trees, birds and flowers, one of the nearest desert areas to Sydney and Melbourne.

Broken Hill is the largest silver, lead and zinc mining center in Adelia. It is a famous city in the history of Australian mining, from road names to scenic spots to works of art. With plenty of sunshine time, the Broken Hill solar power plant, built in 2015, is the birthplace of, Broken Hill, one of the largest solar power plants in the southern hemisphere, and BHP Billiton, the world's largest integrated mining company.

Although it belongs to New South Wales, Broken Hill is more connected between South Australia than, Broken Hill, the only direct rail connection to, Broken Hill is Adelaide rather than Sydney; and unlike Sydney and other parts of New Island, Broken Hill uses Central Australia Standard time (UTC 9:30), the same time zone as South Australia and the Northern Territory, and a half-hour jet lag with Sydney.
