A 25-year-old Australian man has been charged with horrific sexual assault on a woman.

At about 8 p.m. on Friday night, the 50-year-old woman was walking along Mueller Road in Darwin`s Malak district without thinking of a strange man following him, Australia`s Radio 9 news reported.
Police said the woman crossed the road, trying to get rid of the man as soon as possible and ran into the nearby backyard. But the man followed him closely and soon attacked him. The woman rose up to resist and succeeded in repelling the man. After receiving a report from a neighbor, the police immediately arrested the suspected man after investigation.

Kyle Slater, a senior police officer from the sex crime department, said police also found that an hour later, the man was trying to approach another woman at a nearby service station. "at that time, the man in Holzerland Street, tried to force the woman into the woman`s car. Fortunately, the woman drove the car away in time, but the body was already damaged by the man`s attack."
