A Review of the Reform in ACT State

In September this year, ACT government held a seminar for immigration agents and related immigration associations / agencies. At the meeting, the ACT highlighted four major areas of discussion for future reforms:
1 how to manage state requirements
2 how to rank and screen applicants
3. State criteria for application
4. On transition policies
And collected the views of all parties (see the Neolithic past article for specific pointers here).
After two months of gestation, ACT finally posted a brief message of reform on its official website last week:
The current quota for fiscal year 1 ACT 2018 / 9 is 800.
2. Government will assess whether the applicant can settle in ACT for a long time and contribute to the ACT economy in a series of merit-based trials, rather than submitting a priority.

The results of the reform of the state`s policy are as follows:
Implement a new system of merit selection, scoring on the basis of 12 points of achievement
Applicants are ranked and selected in Canberra
The scoring criteria include, but are not limited to:
-whether the profession is "in short supply"
-time of stay in Canberra
-English proficiency
Are there any job offer in Canberra
-are there any relatives or other contacts in Canberra
Applicants submitted before 29 June 2018 will receive additional points
Let`s take a look at the details of ACT government State`s policy.
Stage One
Only applicants with the highest score are invited, and only those who score more than 20 points will be ranked. But in combination with the state government, it is not possible to be invited with high scores. For example, they do not want all accountants, positions to exceed demand positions that they may not invite.

Main points of the meeting:
1. Australian citizen / PR spouses and children, as well as temporary spouses and children, have different points of credit.

Step 4. Ranking, selection and invitation
Canberra government will issue invitations, once a month, according to its scoring system. If applicants have the same scores, their scores will be ranked according to the timing of submission of the Canberra scale.
Applicants will not be invited if there is an over-supply of nominees or if the quota for that fiscal year has been exhausted.
But if the applicant`s nominating career will bring significant benefits to Canberra, it will also be invited.
Canberra takes the time and amount of each round of invitations.
Stage Two
The key information is as follows:
Canberra must submit a state application within 14 days of the invitation and pay $300 for the trial. At the same time, you need to submit all the complete materials related to the state claim score.
All applications will be processed in the order of submission, usually 45 working days! The submission of the state application must submit all the materials, and the compensation will not be valid! State government will not contact the applicant for additional or further explanation of any material issues. If there`s a problem, go straight to Refuse!
After the approval of the state of ACT 190, the applicant EOI will also be invited and will have to submit his signature within 60 days. If the applicant misses a bid for personal reasons, the state government will not give the second state the chance.
Visa granted must live in Canberra as promised, otherwise the state government has the right to notify the Immigration Service!
Main points of the meeting:
1. Material in Bank statement is the key to bank running water showing the applicant really paying rent and spending in Canberra.
2. State government audits employers. If the same employer provides more than one job applicant with work experience, the authenticity will be questioned.
