A Melbourne family woke up early Sunday morning to find a kangaroo swimming in the backyard pool, according to Radio 9.

South Kievel (Clare Nankivell), a resident of Fairfield (Fairfield) in Melbourne, said her husband was outside drinking coffee at about 6 a.m. on Sunday when he heard a noise in the backyard, and he went out to check it out. Suddenly, a kangaroo appeared from him and jumped directly into the pool.

The family ran out to check it out. South Kewell`s husband tried to pull the kangaroo out with a pool spoon, but failed.

Eventually, South Kiev`s son-in-law used a pool spoon to drive the kangaroo to the side of the pool staircase, and then pulled it out. The whole process took about 15 minutes.

Then they opened the back door and the kangaroo left in the direction of (Station Street), the station street.

Funny as it was, the kangaroo did some damage to the pump when it crossed the pool fence.

It was understood that the house was backed by a parking lot rather than a bushes, and that kangaroos would surprise them in the backyard. It was not the first time the family had met an unexpected visitor, who had seen a fox stroll past in December.
