According to the Pioneer Sun, Melbourne`s road congestion crisis is worrisome. Some of the busiest sections of the city can travel at speeds as low as 1 km per hour.

Melbourne`s 10 busiest roads travel as fast as tortoises on weekdays, according to data collected by GPS`s Here Technologies.

On weekdays, the most congested roads in the city were (Alexandra Pde), Alexandria Road, (Clifton Hill), Mount Clifton, and (Malvern Rd)., Marvin Road, Turak (Toorak). The slowest average speed of the two roads between 05:15 and 07:15 is only 1 km per hour. Their overall average speed is better, at 40.9 km / h and 37 km / h, respectively.

On Wednesday, the (Barkly St) on Buckley Street in Fucre (Footscray) could also travel as low as 1 kilometer an hour, especially at 10:30 on the same day.

As some of Melbourne`s main roads are being upgraded to ease congestion, the city is getting more congested before construction is completed.

The model also showed that Melbourne had the busiest traffic hours on Thursday at 5 p.m., and 19.8 percent of the city`s road network was jammed.

It was also a nightmare for parents to pick up their children at school, especially in northeastern Melbourne.

It is reported that in Melbourne, about 1.1 million residents drive to work every day, the city`s average commute time of 35 minutes per trip.
