Burst! Australia work holiday visa officially robbed on February 18, 2019!

The next round of online booking applications for work and vacation visas will open at 9: 00 a.m. on February 18, 2019.

The online booking system via the Australian Visa Application Center (AVAC) is the only way to get an appointment. Applicants do not need to obtain job and holiday visa appointments through agents.

Upon successful appointment, please submit your application to one of the four Australian visa application centers on the date you choose. Each reservation is associated with the applicant`s passport number and cannot be transferred, cancelled or changed. Please ensure that the name and passport number you entered in the system are correct and carry your passport when submitting your application.

What is a working holiday visa?

Working vacation visa (Work and Holiday Visa), abbreviated as WHV, belongs to 462 visa. After China and Australia signed the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the Australian government promised to open 5000 visa places for young people to work and vacation in Australia each year.


Who is eligible to apply?

Official requirements:

  • Holding a valid Chinese passport;
  • 18 years of age at the time of submission of the application, but not more than 31 years of age;
  • There is sufficient funding to support working holidays in Australia (about 5000 Australian dollars);
  • College degree or above, or have completed at least two years of university studies;
  • Basic level of English (detailed requirements below);
  • At the end of a working vacation, there is enough money to buy a ticket to return or continue to travel.
  • There was no previous record of travel to Australia with a 417 type visa;
  • Do not bring their children to Australia;
  • Meet conduct and health requirements (no criminal record, no history of tuberculosis and other major diseases);
  • If you have applied for a working holiday visa from other countries such as New Zealand, you can still apply for it.

What can I do with a job and holiday visa?

Job and holiday visa holders can engage in cultural exchange activities and work, tourism and so on. However, there are also certain limitations, such as:

  • You can enter the country within one year from the date of obtaining a visa, stay in Australia for 12 months after the first entry, and work in Australia for 12 months;
  • A cumulative 12 months of work in Australia, but not more than 6 months for the same employer and no renewal;
  • Up to 4 months of short-term learning;
  • Can travel to and from China and Australia many times within the period of validity of one year;
  • Can be converted to a student visa, a work visa, etc., provided that you get a school offer or find a major-related job (employer is willing to guarantee)
