On Monday morning, the Australian News (Telstra) tarp billboard hung at the CBD skyscraper in Melbourne was torn by the storm and the city fire department's (Metropolitan Fire Brigade) high-altitude rescue team, (HART), was sent to the scene, according to Radio 7.

The 6-meter-long and 4-meter-wide billboard hangs over (Exhibition Street), the exhibition street, and if it falls, it could be a threat to the public.

The high-altitude rescue team arrived at the scene around 10:00. During the peak of the rescue operation, there were about 12 firefighters at the scene.

The state police specifically blocked the area below the billboard to ensure the safety of passers-by and drivers.

The city fire brigade now confirms that the billboard's threat has been lifted.
