Australian Post (Australia Post) and online shopping platform eBay are teaming up to provide warehousing, picking, packaging and delivery services for online retailers, hoping to beat e-commerce giant Amazon (Amazon). In delivery time, the Times reported.

It is reported that about half a year ago, Australia Post launched a low-key Fulfilio business, which mainly to provide online retailers with storage space, and on its behalf of packaging and shipping.

Now, Australian Post has partnered with eBay to sign up with some of the 40, 000 sellers on the online market to provide it with Fulfilio services, which have a faster and more convenient time advantage than sellers who handle their own orders.

Australian Post has been offering wholesale, B2B and other services for years, but Frankie (Ben Franzi), head of parcels and couriers, says demand in the sector has declined and has been affected by online shopping. Demand for direct delivery of goods to customers has increased. The Australian Post must adapt to this trend.

Online spending quotas for Australians increased by about 19% last year, according to a survey by Australian Post.

It is understood that Amazon launched the Fulfilment service in Australia in February, similar to Australia Post`s Fulfilio business. The company owns its first Australian warehouse in southeastern Melbourne and begins to store goods from third-party sellers.

However, Mr Frankie said Australian postal services would be faster, with warehouses in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth capable of delivering shipments on the same day.

In the e-commerce world, speed is an important aspect of competition, so storage locations need to be closer to consumers, which is why it is important to provide such settings, Mr. Frankie said.

It is reported that Amazon`s fastest delivery service for the next day delivery. However, the company is expected to open a second Australian warehouse in southwestern Sydney later this year, a move that is expected to boost its logistics capacity.
