Emergency workers rescued a man trapped at Melbourne`s docks for five days.
At about 7 a.m. Today (Thursday), pedestrians near the pier heard for the first time a man calling for help with a faint voice.
Rescue operations began immediately, firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene.
At 09:30, the man was safely pulled up from the rock protruding under the pier.
When he was pushed to the ambulance, he said he was "frozen, scared, overwhelmed."
"he`s a little confused," said Adrian Schwartz (Adrian Schwarz) of the Victoria Ambulance team. We don`t know his past medical history, but we have confirmed that he has some mental health problems. "
It is not clear how the man was trapped, but it is said that he entered the dock by himself through the sewer.
