According to the Times, many jobs in Australia are dominated by native-born groups, but there are also some overseas immigrants who account for a higher proportion of jobs.

Husseini (Habibulah Hussaini) came to Australia from Afghanistan in 2011, when he could hardly speak English or know how to survive. A bricklayer, also from Afghanistan, taught him to lay floors and ceilings. In 2014, he started his own business. Now Husseini is also a professional bricksmith, working up to six days a week.

Husseini said bricklaying is an attractive job for immigrants, a technology that is easy to learn and does not require a high level of English.

A total of 1960 Afghans are known to be bricklayers in Australia. Census data show that Afghan immigrants make up 0.2% of Australia`s population, 11% of whom are brick makers.

According to all kinds of jobs in Australia, most of the local-born employees have the largest number of jobs.

According to the 2016 census, 68% of Australia`s employed people are native-born. Some jobs are dominated by Australians, such as 91.5 percent of livestock farmers, 87.5 percent of wool shavers, 87.8 percent of school principals and 84.5 percent of police officers.

Drivers of motor vehicles (such as taxi drivers, private drivers, etc.) have a lower percentage of local Australians, at 27.3 per cent. The most common diaspora in the job came from India, accounting for 25.6 percent, followed by Pakistan, 6.8 percent, China 4.8 percent, Bangladesh 4.7 percent, and Lebanon 2.6 percent.

In addition, less than half of Australian-born employees are cooks, housekeepers, tailors, dentists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, software programmers, and electronic engineers.

There are also jobs where a large number of employees come from certain overseas countries.

For example, 9.6% of Australian galleries or museum guides come from China. 8.8% of casino workers are from China. In addition, 20% of programmers in Australia are from India, 19.7% from Vietnam, 11.6% from New Zealand, 11.1% from Thailand and 9.6% from the UK.

If you meet Egyptian immigrants living in Australia, you have a 50% chance of working as a pharmacist. The percentage of Australian pharmacists from Egypt is 3 percent, or 741 out of 23372 pharmacists born in Egypt.
